Writing a First Draft

The first draft should follow the points and organization that you developed in rough draft, yet improvements should be made if necessary. It may be helpful to read your first draft aloud, to see if it flows smoothly or needs some adjustments. Don't feel discouraged by having to rewrite your essay several times before you feel that it is cohesive. It's very common for the world's best writers to make numerous drafts before achieving perfection!
