Answer the following questions to check your knowledge of sentence combining. Read each list of short sentences. Choose the best combined sentence from the next three sentences.

4. Tom went sailing last year.
His friend Jack went with him.
They sailed across the Pacific Ocean.

  Even though Tom and his friend Jack had never sailed before, last year they sailed across the Pacific Ocean.

5. Bill went fishing for the first time.
Bill caught a fish.

10. Sarah worked at her computer.
