Unit 1 — The Informative Paragraph

In this unit, you learn about writing an informative paragraph of at least 5-8 sentences, with complete simple and compound sentences. The main emphasis is learning about writing a topic sentence in parallel form with good supporting sentences, and an appropriate concluding sentence.

Unit 2 — The Process Paragraph

In this unit, you learn about writing a process paragraph using time order. The main emphasis is on describing a process and giving instructions by using imperatives, modals, and passive verb forms.

Unit 3 — The Descriptive Paragraph

In this unit, you learn about writing a descriptive paragraph with details that make the writing more interesting. The main emphasis is on expanding vocabulary and descriptive language.

Unit 4 — The Opinion Paragraph

In this unit, you learn about the development of logical and well-supported opinion paragraphs. The main emphasis is on mastery of clear and concise opinion paragraph writing.

Unit 5 — Introduction to the Essay

In this unit, you learn about the basic organization of ideas for writing an outline and creating paragraphs in a cause and effect essay.

Unit 6 — The Parts of the Essay

In this unit, you learn about writing paragraphs that form an essay. The main emphasis is on the development of concise, organized, paragraphs within the body of a cause and effect style essay.
