Verbs

Definition

Verbs can show either action or a state of being.

Example

Theo prints the spreadsheet. (action verb)

Jennifer is interested in the software upgrade. (state of being)

Explanation

Verbs —

  • follow the subject in a simple sentence.
  • change form to agree with the subject.
  • can be active or passive.
  • show past, present, and future tense.
  • use auxiliary verbs in questions.
