Welcome to a SAMPLE of the Beginner Writing Course. For this sample, only Unit 2 is available. Several reference tools are available too. You can read the Study Guide and the Writing Tips and work on exercises in the Grammar and Structure section.

In the Beginner Writing Course, you will write different types of sentences and paragraphs (three to five sentences long). The course has:

  • seven study units
  • three reference sections
  • writing assignments
  • a review exam
  • a writing exam

The course is 13 weeks long with 40 hours of online learning and 40 hours of offline work.

This is a theme-based writing course. Each unit introduces vocabulary from a different theme:

Unit 1: Daily Life
Unit 2: Travel
Unit 3: Descriptions
Unit 4: Community
Unit 5: Work
Unit 6: Emotions
Unit 7: Emergencies

Each unit also has a grammar lesson section and a sentence structure lesson section. You will learn grammar to help you write different kinds of sentences, letters, and paragraphs. You will learn writing techniques to help you write clear, organized sentences.

You will practice correcting your work with the help of your tutor. Your tutor will help you go through the course. The tutor will give you feedback on your assignments. Your tutor will read your writing and offer suggestions for improvement. You will communicate with your tutor by the WebBoard communication system and by e-mail if necessary.

The Beginner Writing Course is part of the Online English Language Program. In addition to this course, the program includes the Intermediate Writing Course and the Advanced Writing Course. These courses are designed to help students develop better writing skills at the paragraph and essay levels.
